Quick one: there's no point setting your Eridium to a million, because the game caps it at 500 and clamps anything higher straight back down. Here are the actual ceilings for every currency, so you set them once and they stick.

The caps at a glance
  • Eridium: 500 · Seraph: 999 · Torgue tokens: 999.
  • Money tops out near 2.1 billion — but never set the exact integer maximum.
  • Over the cap? The game just clamps it down. Golden keys aren't here — they're in the profile.

The caps

CurrencyMaxWhat it's for
Eridium500The purple currency for SDU/upgrade purchases.
Seraph crystals999Raid-boss currency for Seraph vendor gear (DLC).
Torgue tokens999Earned in the Campaign of Carnage DLC; spend at Torgue vendors.
Money~2.1 billion (int max)Technically caps at the 32-bit integer limit — but don’t set the exact max.

What happens if you go above the cap

For Eridium, Seraph and Torgue: nothing dramatic — the game simply clamps the value back to the maximum next time it loads. So setting Eridium to 9,999 just gives you 500. It's not harmful, it's just pointless; set it to the cap and move on.

The one exception: money

Don't set money to the exact maximum

Money is stored as a 32-bit integer, so its hard ceiling is 2,147,483,647 — but setting that exact value can break the sanity check and cost you the edit. Pick a big, sane number (tens of millions is more than you'll ever spend) and it behaves perfectly. More on why in safe edit recipes.

Golden keys aren't on this tab

One thing people hunt for in the Currency tab and never find: golden keys. They're not a character-save currency — they live in profile.bin, which Gibbed's save editor doesn't touch. To change keys you need a profile editor; I cover that in the Badass Rank & profile page.

Quick answers

Why won't my Eridium go above 500?
500 is the cap. The game clamps anything higher back down — set it to 500.
What's the max for Seraph crystals and Torgue tokens?
999 each.
Can I give myself unlimited money?
Effectively — set a big number like tens of millions. Just don't use the exact 2,147,483,647 integer max, which can break the save.
